You should bring able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently; sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish). On a typical shift you will cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings.
