Requirements: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight The role involves strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job.
