The role involves set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; carry out 6G pipe welds where required. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection 1+ years on the tools preferred.
