Day-to-day duties: • Set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction • Backfill and ram down soil around the foundations • Fix and strip shuttering and formwork for beams and columns • Erect and dismantle scaffolding and pass materials up • Cure freshly laid concrete by sprinkling water for several days Requirements: • Basic knowledge of hand tools like shovel, trowel and breaker • Know how to mix concrete and mortar to the right ratio On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
