Now hiring: we are hiring a blocklayer in Tengnoupal, Manipur. You should bring physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day; proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks; sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish). Your main tasks: • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
