Now hiring: we are hiring a ladle pourer in North Garo Hills, Meghalaya. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. The role involves: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Overtime paid at a premium rate.
