Ideally you have own hand tools (hammer, nail gun, slate ripper); a driving licence is an advantage for site travel; a good head for heights and steady balance. On the job you will handle: • Lay underlayment and tar paper before tiling • Erect and dismantle roof edge protection and scaffolding • Solder and seam standing-seam metal roof sheets • Seal joints and penetrations with mastic and lead flashing Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
