You should have: • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) • Understanding of hand and radio signals On a typical shift you will keep a safe distance from overhead power lines; hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control; follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger; grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands; work out the load weight and the lifting radius.
