On a typical shift you will backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations; top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects; read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles; stockpile and spread material to the required levels. You should bring good depth perception and hand-eye coordination; understanding of safe digging near underground services; able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently.
