Immediate opening: we are hiring a banksman in Lawngtlai, Mizoram. You will be based at a shipyard. Ideally you have ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams; sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness; comfortable working at height and in confined spaces. Day to day you will coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads.
