Vacancy available: we are hiring a steel fixer in Kargil, Ladakh. Requirements: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations Day-to-day duties: • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder 3+ years on the tools preferred.
