On a typical shift you will clean condenser and evaporator coils; recover refrigerant gas before opening a sealed system; trace leaks with an electronic detector and soap solution; read suction and discharge pressures on the manifold gauges; trace electrical circuits with a multimeter; install and commission cold rooms, walk-in freezers and display cabinets. You should bring able to read wiring diagrams and pressure-temperature charts; physically fit to lift compressors and carry ladders; available on-call and at weekends for breakdowns.
