Great opportunity: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya. The job is in a small denim manufacturing unit. What we are looking for: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently Day-to-day duties: • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
