Ideally you have able to read engineering drawings and job cards; basic understanding of metal grades and thicknesses. On a typical shift you will deburr and stack finished components for the next operation; operate mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic power presses; fit and check guards, light curtains and safety interlocks before starting; carry out first-off inspection and report rejects to the supervisor; check stamped parts against drawings using vernier calipers and gauges.
