Your main tasks: • Fault-find control boards and defrost timers • Trace leaks with an electronic detector and soap solution • Check superheat and subcooling and trim the charge • Pull a vacuum on the system and check for trapped moisture • Recover refrigerant gas before opening a sealed system You should bring available on-call and at weekends for breakdowns; valid driving licence for field call-outs; own a set of hand tools and a gauge manifold.
