The role involves secure loads with ratchet straps, chains and load bars; check load weight and axle distribution against permitted limits; plan routes and rest stops in line with driving-hours rules; check tyre pressures, engine oil, coolant and brake fluid levels; reverse and carry out blind-side manoeuvres at loading bays.
