The role involves run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size.
