You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings The role involves: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
