Your main tasks: • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols What we are looking for: • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety 3+ years on the tools preferred.
