Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in South Garo Hills, Meghalaya. You will work at a residential building site. On the job you will handle: • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses Ideal candidate: • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
