Day to day you will bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator; grind back and re-weld any defective runs; weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions; tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc. You should have: • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test 6+ years on the tools preferred. Part-time with flexible hours.
