Day to day you will stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action; conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) on every new task; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date; enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment. Ideally you have confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot; valid first aid and basic firefighting training. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off.
