Your main tasks: • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required What we are looking for: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
