Your main tasks: • Torch on bitumen membrane across flat roofs • Install metal flashing around chimneys and skylights • Set out battens to the correct gauge and spacing • Erect and dismantle roof edge protection and scaffolding • Solder and seam standing-seam metal roof sheets • Hang box gutters and downpipes for rainwater You should bring a good head for heights and steady balance; strong enough to lift tile packs and felt rolls all day; a driving licence is an advantage for site travel. 6+ years on the tools preferred.
