Ideally you have at least 2 years' hands-on experience as a car mechanic; comfortable working in inspection pits and on ramps; physically fit for lifting heavy parts. The role involves trace electrical faults in the starting and charging systems; replace exhaust systems and catalytic converters; replace alternators, starter motors and batteries; estimate repair costs and order the right parts.
