On a typical shift you will read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions. Ideally you have sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection; comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances; steady hands and good close-up eyesight. 5+ years on the tools preferred.
