You should have: • Knowledge of heat loss calculations and system sizing • 18th Edition wiring regs or equivalent electrical competency • F-Gas Category 1 certification or equivalent refrigerant handling cert Day-to-day duties: • Pull a vacuum on the system with a vacuum pump and micron gauge • Weigh in and charge the correct refrigerant gas per manufacturer spec • Pressure test the refrigerant circuit with nitrogen and check for leaks • Connect flow and return pipework to the buffer tank or cylinder Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
