Ideally you have valid first aid and basic firefighting training; confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot; minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites. The role involves ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action; run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry.
