Urgent requirement: core maker (Illinois)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Ogle County, Illinois. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. On a typical shift you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch. Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Full-time, day shift.
