Immediate opening: we are hiring a horticulturist in Scott County, Illinois. The job is at a plant nursery. On the job you will handle: • Repot nursery stock and pot on cuttings • Spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease • Cut back tree branches and clear overhanging limbs • Plant seasonal bedding plants, bulbs and saplings • Operate strimmers, leaf blowers and brush cutters What we are looking for: • Previous experience as a gardener or in grounds maintenance • Good knowledge of common plants, shrubs and seasonal planting • Understanding of pruning and watering schedules Six days a week, one day off. Pay around $250 per day, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
