Now hiring: we are hiring a gantry crane operator in Kanke, Plateau State. Requirements: • Current medical and eyesight certificate • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging Day-to-day duties: • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Work out the load weight and the lifting radius • Climb and inspect the tower crane mast and tie-ins • Watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity • Keep a safe distance from overhead power lines • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block 1+ years on the tools preferred.
