You should have: • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination The role involves fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure; work out the load weight and the lifting radius; set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground; keep every lift within the safe working load (SWL); follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger; grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands.
