Join our team: we are hiring a head butcher in Defiance County, Ohio. The job is at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. You should have: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling You will run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case.
