On the job you will handle: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew.
