The role involves: • Apply die lubricant and keep the tooling clean • Load metal sheets, blanks and coils onto the press bed • Watch for cracks, burrs, wrinkles and double-hits on parts • Fit and check guards, light curtains and safety interlocks before starting • Carry out first-off inspection and report rejects to the supervisor You should have: • Basic understanding of metal grades and thicknesses • Attention to detail and steady hands for accurate loading • Knowledge of press safety, guarding and lockout-tagout Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
