Day to day you will work to laser, GPS or 2D/3D machine-control guidance; backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers; keep the cab clean and oil-free and report defects promptly; excavate trenches for water, sewer and cable runs; inspect tracks, bucket teeth and pins for wear before start-up. Requirements: • Confident working to fine grade and tight tolerances • Good awareness of underground services and exclusion zones Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
