Vacancy available: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Nguru, Yobe State. You will work at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • 2+ years experience working as a butcher Day to day you will vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case.
