Requirements: • Physically fit to lift bundles and handle repetitive work • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • 1-2 years' experience pressing garments in a factory Day to day you will fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure.
