Immediate opening: we are hiring a conventional mill operator in Katcha, Niger State. You will be based at a busy machine shop. Your main tasks: • Monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters • Set up and operate vertical and horizontal milling machines • Set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter • Carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square Ideal candidate: • Safety conscious and comfortable wearing PPE around moving machinery • Good eyesight and steady hands for close-tolerance work • Proficient with micrometers, vernier callipers and dial gauges 5+ years on the tools preferred.
