Gantry crane operator wanted in Middlesex County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a gantry crane operator in Middlesex County, Virginia. You will be based at a container port and shipping yard. Day to day you will hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control; read and interpret the load chart before every lift; help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone; park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift; grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Strong attention to safety and load limits Full-time, day shift. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
