Vacancy available: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Tazewell County, Illinois. You will work in a demolition and site-clearance yard. Requirements: • Comfortable with GPS or laser machine control • Able to read drawings, setting-out pegs and level pegs • Good awareness of underground services and exclusion zones Your main tasks: • Swap buckets and attachments — rock breaker, grab, ripper, auger • Keep the cab clean and oil-free and report defects promptly • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers • Grade, level and batter slopes to the required gradient • Dig and trim drainage channels and attenuation ponds • Dig foundation trenches and footings to the marked depths and levels Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
