Now hiring: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Boyd County, Kentucky. You will be based at a halal meat counter. You should have: • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Your main tasks: • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Season and marinate meat on request • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking 3+ years on the tools preferred.
