Pressman — Rotherham

We are recruiting: we are hiring a pressman in Rotherham, England. The job is in a tailoring workshop. Requirements: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Physically fit to lift bundles and handle repetitive work The role involves: • Remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing • Clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
