Great opportunity: we are hiring a cnc setter-operator in Douglas County, Illinois. The job is at a busy machine shop. Requirements: • Able to hold tolerances to ±0.01 mm • ITI / NCVT certificate in the machinist (turner) trade preferred • Confident with micrometers, vernier calipers and bore gauges Day to day you will write and edit G-code programs at the control; adjust feeds and speeds to control the surface finish; run first-off inspection and sign off the part; set tool offsets and establish work zero (G54); change worn carbide inserts and monitor tool wear; set up workpieces in three-jaw chucks and collets. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Walk-in interviews this week.
