Now hiring: we are hiring a lathe programmer-operator in Gateshead, England. The job is in a job-work machining unit. What we are looking for: • ITI / NCVT certificate in the machinist (turner) trade preferred • Confident with micrometers, vernier calipers and bore gauges • Working knowledge of G-code and M-code Your main tasks: • Adjust feeds and speeds to control the surface finish • Deburr and chamfer machined parts by hand • Set tool offsets and establish work zero (G54) • Write and edit G-code programs at the control • Run first-off inspection and sign off the part 1+ years on the tools preferred.
