Join our team: we are hiring a port container crane operator in Cook County, Illinois. You will be based on a busy construction site. The role involves help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone; grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands; carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block; read and interpret the load chart before every lift; keep a safe distance from overhead power lines. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Understanding of hand and radio signals • Proven experience on mobile, tower or overhead cranes 5+ years on the tools preferred.
