Immediate opening: counter butcher (Michigan)

Now hiring: we are hiring a counter butcher in Keweenaw County, Michigan. You will be based at a halal meat counter. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling On a typical shift you will vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; season and marinate meat on request. Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Meals and transport allowance provided. Part-time with flexible hours. Contact us to fix an interview.
