Vacancy available: retail butcher (Wales)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a retail butcher in Monmouthshire, Wales. The job is at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. You will sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain. You should have: • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
