We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry operative in Aleutians East Borough, Alaska. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Day-to-day duties: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Full-time, day shift. $3,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
