Foundry operative — Washington County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Washington County, Missouri. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. On a typical shift you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards 1+ years on the tools preferred. $6,750 per project, negotiable for the right hands.
